1. School Based Screening:
In the year 2016-17, SHS (DGHS), GNCT of Delhi did an intensive survey of 6530 school children of various GNCTD schools and identified 1069 children with some form of substance abuse. The identified children were counseled by trained MOs and PHNs of SHS while 62 were referred to one of the Govt. Deaddiction centers or District Mental Health Facilities (DMHF) of IHBAS [BSA Hospital-17, DDU Hospital-5, LBS Hospital-6, GTB Hospital-11, DMHF DGD Dwarka -13, DMHF DGD Chattarpur -8].
Also, during January 2017- March 2017 a total number of 22123 students were screened for Substance Abuse by SHS (DGHS). However, only 16 children were identified with Substance abuse, mostly smoking & gutka. Further a rapid assessment tool by color coded card method was pilot tested in consultation with NGO SPYM for screening of 2082 children in 17 schools of 5 districts of Delhi. 115 students agreed for using some form of substance use.
The tool given below is simple and can be used by teachers for rapid screening in classes in short time.

2. Deaddiction centers for Juveniles established by SHS /DGHS/ H&FWD in Delhi Govt Hospitals/Health Institutions
Following Delhi Govt. Hospitals has outpatient and inpatient detoxification facility for Children / Adolescents with Drug/Substance Abuse:
1. Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Dilshad Garden.- Deaddiction Clinic, Room No.- 4 to 12, Psychiatry OPD, 1.30 pm to 4 pm, Every Monday, and 5 beds earmarked for inpatient management of Juvenile with drug/ substance abuse,
2. GB Pant Hospital, Delhi Gate-Deaddiction Clinic, Room 4 Psychiatry OPD, Ground Floor, 2 pm, Every Wednesday , and 5 beds earmarked exclusively for Deaddiction ofJuvenile with drug/ substance abuse
3. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital, Hari Nagar-Deaddiction Clinic, Room No. 5 D, Psychiatry OPD, First Floor, 9-12 am, Every Monday, and 5 beds earmarked for Deaddiction of Juvenile with drug/substance abuseandDe addiction clinicat Tilak Vihar Polyclinic, Tilak Vihar,Thrice a week 9 am to 4 pm by Psychiatry Dept ofDDUH
4. Dr. Baba Saheb Amedkar Hospital (BSA), Rohini Sector VI- Deaddiction Clinic, Room No. 1032-1035, Basement , Psychiatric Dept, 2-4 PM ( Every Monday) and 6 beds earmarked exclusivelyfor inpatient management of juveniles with drug/ Substance Abuse.
5. Pt..Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital, Malviya Nagar-Deaddiction Clinic, Psychiatry OPD, 2nd floor, 9 am -1 pm, daily, and 5 beds earmarked for inpatient management of Juvenile with drug/ substance abuse.
6. Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, Ashok Vihar Phase IV, Near Bharat Nagar Police Station-30 bedded model Deaddiction facility for inpatient management of children/adolescents with drug/ substance abuse. OPD Deaddiction services likely to also start on daily basis.
7. Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Khichripur, Delhi Govthas Outpatient and 5 bedded in-patient facility for management of children/adolescents with drug/ substance abuse.
District Mental Health Clinics of IHBAS :
1. Delhi Govt Dispensary, Sec 12 , Dwarka, District Mental Health Program Center – Wed/Fri/Sat from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm. Team from IBHAS deputed there.
2. Delhi Govt Dispensary Timarpur,Monday, Thursday and Friday, timing 10 am to 12:30 pm.
3. Delhi Govt Dispensary Chattarpur,Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
4. Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital: Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
